I hold sovereignty over two.
One believes in strength – it is the unaffected sun
Whose radiance delivers unquestionable influence
across naïve voids,
Leaving them with suave birrs
While offering not a single embrace.
And these wisps of apathy coalesce into amygdalae,
Submitting fear back to the licentious eye –
Such poison is the most beguiling comfort.
The other confides in repose – it is the soft moon,
skulking just beyond the light's purview.
Ungoverned by the miserly,
Its heart conceals all in heterotelism,
Painting detached episodes over an azoic canvas
left to be emblazoned by the ravenous haze,
Defining purpose with feigned transcendence.
Discord preserves what the sun and moon have yet to touch,
Unsheathing an Aesopian truth:
The two as one are inchoate,
So I hold sovereignty over two.

i don't need to be an atheist to love scifi
someone told me the universe has no room for my gods
someone told me that there's no such thing as a good thing
that can also be a big thing
well i'm not too good with words but um
i subsisted on stories of an elephant-man that held the universe in his belly
planets, stars; they did not deny the existence of space
my gods dance among the stars, with bodies made of dark matter.
loki blew fire into the sun when the void threatened it and
odin was the original person who looked up and looked further
and maybe said 'hey look at that i think we could use a planet there'.
you see - i think we can pilot our ships through the birfrost

The World's True Light
It fell upon a winter’s night
Two thousand years ago
A Babe was born, ’neath starry light,
To save us all from woe.
His Mother, Mary, gave Him birth
All in a cattle shed,
And wise men came across the earth
With gifts, as it is said.
They brought Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
And owned Him as their King,
For He was their Deliverer;
His praises they did sing.
The shepherds also to Him came
At an angelic word,
And praised the Saviour’s Holy Name,
For He was Christ the Lord,
That Child was born to save us all
Upon that starry night;
Though born inside a cattle stall,
He is the world’s true Light.

Rosebush
If I were to tell you,
"Life is not a bed of roses."
Would you still continue
To pull the weeds from beneath the rows?
If I said,
"There are some wounds that cannot heal."
Would you still reach between the brambles
And allow the thorns to pierce your skin?
Were I to mention,
"Even the brightest of flowers
Will eventually succumb to time."
Would you still cut the heads
In preparation for the new spring buds?
You simply smile and say;
"Yes.
For even the most vapid vine deserves to be cultivated.
Only then can it bloom
And truly enjoy its time in the sun."
